Winston Churchill

To me, a hero is a person who is determined, has an indomitable will, and someone who may not have started out perfect, but over time, pulled him or herself together. Winston Churchill to me, fits all of these categories. Winston Churchill was a hero who held Europe together during the second World War, and united many countries to face Hitler. At first, most of Europe was too self centered to notice the cruel acts Hitler was performing, but Winston Churchill did. Throughout his life, he showed determination, power, and bravery.

When World War 2 broke out, Hitler was only conducting his cruel plans in Germany, so most of the British parliament neglected to address the cruel acts because they didn't directly affect them. When Hitler first invaded Europe and the situation was dark, Winston Churchill steadily refused to surrender, which inspired British people to stay strong and keep on fighting. He directly helped the war effort by hosting radio shows and speeches which raised morale. He is most well know for uniting many countries to form the Allies who eventually ended the war. He is also a role model for many kids because he started out as a mischievous and disrespectful kid, but was able to pull himself together and become the great leader he was known for. He was not only a legitimate politician, he was also a capable military leader.

Winston Churchill displayed all of the characteristics that a hero should have to me, and that is why he is my hero.
