Can you guess who created the wonderful, sweet sensation called bubble gum? Yes, you're right, it is Walter Diemer! I’m going to talk about his life and how he created bubble gum. He is a genius that keeps on improving his creation. He did not create gum itself but managed to make it less sticky so that you could blow a bubble without it sticking to your face. He was born in 1904 and died in 1998. Walter married a woman named Adelaide. He also had a boy and a girl. In 1927 he went to the Fleer company where he made history.
Along with his invention Walter Diemer created many different flavors. He wanted to make as many flavors as he could so that everyone could enjoy his creation. Some of the many flavors he made are peppermint, vanilla, cinnamon, and many more. He also created a different kind of bubble gum called double bubble. It was the most popular bubble gum at that time. He was clever to create many flavors because all bubble gum chewers will have at least one flavor they like. In conclusion, that is how he gets more people to buy and chew bubble gum.
It's amazing how popular Walter Diemer’s invention has become since 1928. His invention is selling rapidly! Kids all over the world are buying bubble gum and blowing bubbles too. Every year kids from north America spend about 5,00,000 dollars on bubble gum. Over 40,000,000 pieces of bubble gum get chewed each year. About 26,000 get chewed each day. Plus, 444 pieces of bubble gum get chewed each second! As you are reading this, bubblegum is being bought and chewed really fast.
Don’t we all wonder how Walter Diemer invented bubble gum ? Well, all your questions will be answered. First, all the ingredients are put into pots or kettles where they are cooked until they are melted and is as thick as maple syrup. Step two,the melted ingredients are poured into a machine that adds sugar, flavoring, and corn syrup. Step three, the mix is then moved to a cooler where the temperature is very low. Step four, the gum gets flattened by a roller. Finally, the gum is wrapped, packaged, and shipped around the world.
Walter Diemer is an amazing inventor. He made it possible for everyone to enjoy his creation. Here I talked about his life, the flavors he made, how bubble gum is made, how popular it has become, and what kinds of bubble gum he made. If not for his invention, gum would be sticking to our faces. The world is grateful for Walter Diemer’s invention, bubble gum.
