Walt Disney shows to most to reach for the stars and he inspires all. Walt Disney; born with the name Walter Elias Disney on December 5, 1901. Walt Disney had spent most of his childhood along with his birth in the city of Chicago, Illinois. Walt Disney had died on December 15, 1966, in Los Angeles, California. As a young child he enjoyed drawing and expressing himself through theater. As a chance to reach his dreams he moved to Hollywood with his brother Roy where the two began the first Disney production studio. At the age of forty-one years, Disney happily married one of his first employees; Lillian Marie Bounds. Disney always believed in himself and his dreams. In the year 1937 his dream came true, Disney along with his brother had become the first to create the world’s first full-length animated film, more familiarly known as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Walt Disney never gave up on his dreams and always did what he needed to do to make his dreams come true. Disney always practiced to reach his dream and never stopped; “he worked so hard he would even practice his sketching in school, although he would easily get carried away and would do that and not his school work. Once he got to become a great artist he had convinced his sister to help him paint the side of his house with tar” (“Disney” Encyclopedia of European Social History). Even as a young artist, Disney always knew he would be able to become the person he had dreamed about, and so he never stopped practicing to reach his dream. He never gave up and always pushed for his dreams to come true. “At the opening of Disneyworld, his brother Roy remarked in his sort speech: ‘My brother Walt and I first went into business together almost a century ago. And he was really in my opinion truly a genius-creative, with great determination, singleness of purpose and drive; and through his entire life he never pushed off his course or diverted to other things’” (qtd. in “Walt Disney” DISCovering Biography). Walt Disney had become a person who never strayed from his set path and always had the determination to be who he needed and always wanted to be; Walt Disney never gave up no matter what. Walt Disney shows heroism through his teachings to never give up and not to let anyone or thing stop you from reaching your dreams.

Walt Disney as a child
Walt Disney as a child

Walt Disney grew up faced with a hard life; he came from a large family and a home that for many years known to Disney as a farm in Missouri. And through all that he never had any trouble to find his way to “wish upon the stars.” Disney’s life on the farm may not have been the easiest, “but later on in life the farm animals that he would see every day had become the same animals that helped to inspire Disney in creating his fabulous and well known characters” (Adams, and Alice). Walt Disney may have grown up on a farm in Missouri, but to everyone else it makes no difference, it only makes it more amazing, that a great person like him could become the fabulous and well known Walt Disney, the man everyone knows today. The man who created Mickey Mouse. As a young kid Walt Disney’s father was not very supportive of his dreams and goals, “As a young child Walt would sneak out of his house against his father’s permission and perform small skits with a local theater group” (Disney co. and Brad). Walt Disney had not always seen encouragement by his parents. Walt Disney had heard many times by his father to stop believing that this farfetched dream would come true. Walt Disney’s Father would tell him that his dreams had grown close to impossible. Against all the negativity Walt always believed in himself against the good times and bad. Walt Disney grew up with a hard life but never let that stop him from reaching him dream.

Walt Disney inspires others to always believe in themselves, their dreams, and always do their best no matter how hard it may seem. Disney always believed in himself and that he could reach his dream, “In the year 1955 Walt Disney’s dream of a clean and organized amusement park, Disneyland came true” (“Disney” Encyclopedia of European Social History). Disney inspires others to always believe, he shows them to set high goals and “shoot for the moon, even if you miss you will land among the stars” as said by Les Brown. Disney inspires the young and the old, and a friend to all. Disney inspires everyone, “In 1955 president Lyndon B. Johnson presented Disney with the presidential Medal of Freedom and in the same year Disney was awarded the Freedom Foundation Award” (Adams). Disney always tried to do his best and be a person everyone would love and look up to. In the year 1955 Walt had, had some of his work and dreams shown through. With these his dreams became a reality and from the awards he could tell people knew what the name Walt Disney meant and who and made that name what it had become. No longer just the boy who grew up on a farm in Missouri, Walt Disney always gave his all no matter how tough it was going to be. Disney always had amazing determined and set his mind to achieve those goals, which just ended up becoming a reality. Disney shows everyone how important it is to “wish upon a star, doesn’t matter who you are…” He shows how important it is for everyone to believe themselves and shoot for the stars.
