Becoming famous is a long journey with tons of obstacles intercepting the path; Disney overcame the hurdles to become the hero everyone admires. His first attempt in the animation industry, became his first: "Initial failure [that] sent Disney to Hollywood in 1923, where in partnership with his loyal elder brother Roy, they managed to resume cartoon production. His first success came with the creation of Mickey Mouse in Steamboat Willie." (Disney, Walt [1901-1966]). At first he didn't succeed in his profession, then after teaming up with a trusted companion, Disney begun his climb up towards the mountain of heroes. Most people would have given up, but Disney kept going his own way, filled with perseverance and determination. After becoming successful in the late 1940s, he overworked his staff and, "Many top animators resigned, and it would be many years before the company produced animated features that lived up to the quality of its early 1940s classics." (Bosley, Crowther) Disney did not give up even though some of the workers left him; he continued to animate shows even though the company was understaffed. He overcame this and created a name for himself and used the advantages of being famous to spread love and entertainment to everyone, primarily targeting children. Climbing over mountain after mountain can cause anyone give up, but Walt Disney continued onward and ignored all the difficulties being thrown at him and proved to everyone that he is a hero material.
Disney sought after a way to communicate with children to lecture them about lessons of life, and reaching his purpose to teach morals while satisfying their boredom through filmmaking. In the movie Frozen, Olaf, in danger of melting and not existing, soothes Anna while she freezes to death next to the fireplace after being abandoned by Prince Hans of the Southern Isles, "Some people are worth melting for" (Frozen). Real Friends will help you no matter what the situation is, even through a life-or-death scenario. With friendship, anything is achievable, this moral is also shown in real life as friends stand up for each other against bullies (in this case, Hans and the dangers of having powers). Another scene from a Disney classic called Frozen reveals another moral when Pabbie, the Troll King, informs the royal family about the power; "Elsa your power will grow. There's a beauty in it and also a danger. Fear will be your enemy" (Frozen). Power is dangerous, don't use it for evil but for good. In the wrong hands, it can bring disaster upon everyone. Disney used his money (power) to create motion pictures for the children's entertainment and continued to add enjoyable features such as the amusement parks, instead of hoarding the money all for himself. Walt Disney used all his spare time to produce movies to please the children and to teach lessons, he does this for the children's sake and establishes his odds of being a hero.
Disney inspires everyone through his amazing work of animating and dedication to overcome things for the children's sake. Disney also uses his own name to create a legacy to inform everyone that if you work hard enough, you can strive towards success. Being a hero is also about the hero's legacy, "the Disney name now lends itself to a multi-billion dollar enterprise, with multiple undertakings all over the world". He still lives with us today through his name and inspires us to not give up. The Disney legacy influences anyone whoever puts his mind into it, they can be a hero too. Not only a hero, he was also an "American motion-picture and television producer and showman, famous as a pioneer of animated cartoon films." A hero does not need a super power nor abnormal strength, he can be your average everyday person. Disney implements thoughts of admiration in us because he is not a noble, does not have super powers, yet he is a hero through his efforts and love for the children. By creating a legacy, Walt Disney demonstrates that he is a hero due to the global fame and recognition from all the children and adults.
