Walt Disney is a true "Renaissance Man." We made definitions for school, about what the Renaissance is, and Walter Elias Disney truly does fit our definition. The definition is, the rebirth of the spirit to push the limits of literacy, art, science, and technology for new hopes. That definition was made by Kayla, Sam, and Richie.

Walter Elias Disney, born on December 5, 1901, did many things in his lifetime. They ranged from creating many cartoon characters, to inventing sound in animation movies. These are only two of many ideas that Disney has created/invented.

Disney's childhood was anything but dramatic. His father, Elias Disney, and his mother, Flora Call Disney, took care of Disney when he was in his childhood. His father, was very cruel and mean to Disney. To escape his fathers cruelty when he was a kid, he would draw, and keep drawing until he felt better ("Walter Elias Disney").

Disney's first cartoon character that he made was, "Oswald the Lucky Rabbit." After he made this cartoon character, someone stole it from him and put their name on it instead of Disney's. After someone stole the character, Disney wasn't going to give up. So he was drawing in his apartment. When he was drawing, he heard and saw some mice in a corner of his apartment("Walt Disney"). Those mice helped Disney create the character of "Mickey Mouse."

Without Disney's invention of sound in movies, there wouldn't be the movies out there today. Could you imagine not having some of your favorite movies out there without sound? Just think, how are you supposed to understand some comedies without showing any action? They wouldn't make sense.
