“If you can dream it, you can do it,” (Disney). This quote by Walt Disney himself describes perfectly how Walt lived his life by how he followed and achieved his dreams. Walt is famous for being an animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, and philanthropist. He created many famous characters; one in particular that is internationally known is Mickey Mouse. He later went on to make Disneyland, a theme park in Anaheim, California. Walt also planned an even bigger amusement park named Walt Disneyworld. Unfortunately Walt passed away before Walt Disneyworld was built and opened. Walt Disney is a hero and inspiration for his perseverance and determination to follow his dreams.

Walt’s dream was to become an animator and make movies in Hollywood, his perseverance to keep going helped him accomplish this dream. One instance of perseverance is when World War II broke out and many of his staff went on strike: “I said, by hook or by crook we’ve got to get going. We’ve got to get back in the business that we were in before the war” (The Walt Disney Family Museum). Walt Disney said that even though the company has been through a tough time, he still wanted to persevere and continue with his dream. He got the company back on their feet, when no one else thought they could do it. Walt has also proven his earnestness by saying, “All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles have strengthened me,” (Walt Disney). Walt shows that through the obstacles he has had to overcome, he pushed through it all. Even with these obstacles Walt still stayed positive. With his perseverance, Walt Disney made his dreams become a reality.

Another heroic aspect that Walt Disney had was determination. When he was new to the entertainment business, he shows this, “Arriving in Hollywood and finding no openings in the major movie studios, Walt continued to pursue his idea for the Alice Comedies,” (The Walt Disney Family Museum). Walt had confidence with the idea of the Alice Comedies- a mini live action TV series- that he could make it a hit. He wouldn’t take no for an answer when he was determined to do something. When Walt was still beginning, his wife Lilly said, “I was afraid. Roy [Walt’s Brother] was too. But Walt wanted to do it,” (The Walt Disney Family Museum). This shows that Walt was not scared, but was ambitious and determined to get to the point where his dreams were carried out. Walt believed in himself and his company that they could make the world happy with their movies and TV shows. As a result of the determination Walt Disney had, he accomplished and followed his goal of becoming an animator.
Walt Disney inspired millions around the world, to follow their dreams because of his perseverance and determination to follow his own dream. Even though Walt had to overcome obstacles and the hard life in Hollywood, he did not let anything or anyone stop him. "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them," (Walt Disney).
