When I was studying at music school I was very interested in reading about lives of famous composers. I can say that Mozart’s compositions produced on me a strong impression. He was a prolific composer of the classical era. He composed over six hundred works: symphonic, piano, operatic, concert ante and choral music. Mozart showed ability from his earliest childhood in Salzburg. He composed from the age of five. Visiting Vienna in 1781 he was dismissed from his Salzburg position and chose to stay in the capital, where he achieved the fame. In the final years, Mozart wrote his best known “Requiem”. His music stands an archetypal example of the Classical style. He developed and popularized the classical piano concerto. He wrote a great deal of religious music. Clarity, balance are the hallmarks of his work.
Mozart felt ill while he was in Prague. The illness intensified on 20 November. He died at 1a.m. on 5 December 1791 at the age of 35. He was a fantastic man and composer whom I admire.
