Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Young Mozart played piano.

I chose Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart because I’m interested in music. Mozart caught my eye as I scrolled through different heroes. I hope after this piece of writing, you will be as interested in Mozart as me.

Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 in a little town called Salzburg, in north central Austria. When Mozart was three years old, he had an interest in piano. About at the age of 4-5, little Mozart began to compose music. Trained hard by his father, Leopold, Mozart became better and better at his talent.

At the young age of six, Mozart and his older sister Maria Anna Mozart (who was always called Nannerl) were presented at the Court of the Empress Maria Theresa in Vienna and in the principal aristocratic households of central Europe, Paris, and London. Mozart had a good teacher named San Martini. He taught Mozart how to do a duet concert perfectly. He promoted Mozart to be a member of the organization of music lovers. Mozart had become the youngest member in history of the Accademia Filarmonica. Mozart, unlike any other composer in history, wrote in all of the musical genres of his day and excelled in every one. Mozart also, alone with everything he did, had a few bumps in his road to glory. For instance, Mozart fell in love with a girl named Aloysia. He wanted to marry her, but his father did not agree. So he left for Paris, but in 1778 Mozart returned to propose to the girl of his dreams. Sadly, Aloysia ignored him for she wanted to continue her life as a great singer. Sadly Mozart died on December 5, 1791 at the age of 35.

I think Mozart is a hero because he dedicated his whole life to music. Music itself was his life. Also he was loyal to his life’s dream, music. He was never giving up on it ever since he was four. Mozart too was determined to copy a symphony and perform it, even though the sacred symphony was only allowed to be performed in a certain church Sistine Chapel and no one was allowed to alter it. But, Mozart did and impressed Pope Clement XIV and he gave Mozart a reward. He gave Mozart a special cross.

I chose Mozart because I love music, and I hope someday I will become like him. His life was really interesting, and he accomplished a lot during it. When I think of a hero, I think of someone who gives joy to others. Mozart gave us the joy of his music.
