My hero is Dwyane Wade. Dwyane Wade plays in the NBA. He is on the Miami Heat, though he was born in Chicago Illinois. He’s been playing for almost 4 years and he has already brought his team the championship in 2006. Dwayne Wade was born January 17, 1982 on the south side of Chicago.

His parents divorced and he lived with his father and stepmother in Robbins, Illinois during his childhood. As a child growing up in the Chicago area Wade loved the former Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan, and Wade has said he tries to do the same moves as Michael Jordan. Wade attended H. L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn. He did not see a lot of playing time his sophomore year as his stepbrother Demetrius McDaniel who was the star of the team.

Wade grew four inches in the summer before his junior year and proceeded to average 20.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Wade then averaged 27.0 points and 11.0 rebounds his senior year, helping his team to a 24-5 record. D Wade played college basketball for Marquette University in Milwaukee. In Wade's first year at Marquette he did not play because of academic problems.

When Wade became eligible his sophomore year he led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 17.8 ppg, and also contributed averages of 6.6 rebounds per game and 3.4 assists per game. Marquette finished a 26-7 record, that’s the school's best record since the 1993-1994 season. Wade is a Christian and chose the number 3 because it represents the Holy Trinity. In addition, Wade gives 10% of his salary to a church in Chicago.

He is married to his high school girlfriend, Siohvaughn Funches, who was his first and only serious girlfriend, and has a son named Zaire Blessing, he was born February 4, 2002. The reason Dwayne Wade is my hero is because he a really good basketball player and not only that he donates money to charity and that’s his choice no one makes him do it.
