Tracy and Kristin Ward

by Alyssa from Orem

When you think of heroes, you normally don't think of someone who is close to you or just an average person like you. Most of the time you pick someone who gets recognized nationally and it is noticed by everyone for the major things that they do. Have you ever wondered about the people who do little things everyday to help you out? A hero should be someone who has been there for you as long as you can remember. Most of the time a hero can determine the person that you can become. As in the words of the ancient Greeks, "Tell me who you admire and I'll tell you who you are." Tracy and Kristin Ward, which are my parents, are my heroes.

My Parents have always been people that I look up to. They may not have have done things that the world has recognized, but they have done things that I have recognized. Take, for instance, the phrase "love you." How many times have your parents said that to you? I know that mine have said that phrase all the time. This phrase may not mean that much to you, but to me it means the world, knowing that no matter what I do, my parents will still love me. When you think about it, knowing that you have people that love you matter what mistakes you make, makes life that much better and easier to go through everyday.

What about the things that they do? I know that quite often, when I've had a bad day, they have always been there to sit and talk with me, or just give me a hug to let me know everything is going to be all right. When I think about it, my parents have done a lot for me and most of the time, I don't even take the time to notice it. From the millions of talks and definitely billions of hugs, I have come to realize that those actions, it has helped me develop my sense character and individuality. Even though no one else knows what they do, I know, and am grateful for it.
