My hero is Oprah Winfrey. She has donated millions of dollars to organizations that help the less fortunate. She transformed the lives of thousands of people. She even has her own foundation, the Oprah Angel Network, where 100% of the money they receive goes to the greater good.
Oprah Winfrey has helped people reach their goals and dreams. She has helped bring people out of poverty. Also, she was abused when she was growing up, and she created a law that lets people identify who child abusers are, so she has helped millions of abuse victims.
Growing up, she had a rough childhood. She went through abuse from her family as well as molestation. Also, to escape from letting out her emotions, she ran away from her home while living with her mother. Then, her mother sent her to a juevenile detention center, but it was full, so they sent her to live with her father. There, she got pregnant and had her first child while being a teenager. From then, she turned her life around into the great woman she is today, one step at a time.
My hero has shown courage by donating her own money to others. She has risked losing her billionaire status for the well-being of other people in need of the money. To add on to that, she reversed her life by going from a horrible childhood to a billionaire philanthropist.
This person is important to me because she has set many records, such as being the first black woman to obtain billionaire status as well as the first black woman to own her production company. This shows to me how one person in the world, even from starting out with a bad life, can come out on top and help others at the same time. She truly has showed me courage.
