The reason I picked Tiger Woods as my hero is that through his hard work he became the #1 golfer in the world and he does things to help other people through his foundation and his charity work. He was born in 1975 in Cypress, California located in the east LA area next to Anaheim, California. I like to watch Tiger Woods play golf and also think it is great that he raises money for charity around the world.

When I watch Tiger Woods play golf, he makes me want to work harder so I can play better golf. He also shows that it is important to help other people through his charity work helping children with his foundation and learning centers that he started. Another reason why I think he is a role model is that he donates money to charities and he doesn't care about getting anything back.

Tiger Woods' accomplishments are many. He has won 62 PGA tours and has started two learning centers and holds two charity events that happen every year like the TigersJam and the Targets World Challenge. When he was two years old he started to play golf and would practice and practice so he could get better. He was nine years old when he won his first ever tournament. He was the youngest junior amateur champion at age 15. He graduated from Stanford University where he won the NCAA Golf Tournament. After that he became a professional golfer, winning nine majors and many more tournaments. Now he is the #1 player in the world and can still win many more majors in his lifetime.

Tiger Woods and his farther Earl Woods started their foundation in 1996 to help empower children to reach their potential. They held Junior Golf Clinics to raise money for the foundation. What this foundation has done is that they have helped many kids around the world with their education. If they can't afford it Tiger Woods gives them grants. He and his father started the Tiger Woods Learning Centers TWLC to help kids with their academics and hold an annual concert called TigersJam presented by AT&T. The concert raises money for Tiger Woods Foundation based on their belief that we have a responsibility to help young people. The TWLC is located in Anaheim, California. There is another event that he put together to raise money for TWLC called the Target World Challenge. The Target World Challenge is a golf tournament and whoever wins this tournament gives the money that they win to a charity of their choice. The rest of the money goes to the TWLC.
