Orville & Willbur Wright

by Johnny from Fife

Orville was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 19 1871; Wilbur in Millville, Indianan, on April 16, 1867; they were inspired by a toy helicopter that was made with wood, bamboo, and a rubber band for a working the rudder. Wilbur was the one who made the plans and had the idea, later Orville was deeply involved with the plans.

Wilbur and Orville were the first to make the working plane. They got the Idea from bird's wings and how they changed their wings to move. Orville was the first to fly the working plane in 1903 (that plane was the third plane they made) (the other 2 failed in 1902 and 1901). The 4th glider flown by Wilbur lasted over 5 minutes in 1904.

In my opinion they are both heroic, they showed perseverance and bravery. Wilbur was nice enough to let his older brother help design and build the glider. If the Wright brothers did not invent and fly the plane it may look very different or wouldn't exist today.
