Yuri Gagarin

Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin was born near Moscow, Russia, on March 9th, 1934. When Yuri was a child, his father was a carpenter. But Yuri had his own plans; he dreamed of walking on the moon. As he became older, he married a woman named Valentina Gagarin. Once he decided he wanted to have his own family, he wound up with two beautiful daughters, named Yelena and Glaya. Yuri became the first man on the moon on April 12th, 1961. The flight lasted 108 minutes.

Yuri made it, and did not die, or get injured at any level. Once he got back, he received a medal, and title of Hero of the Year. He was also named Russian Hero. Unfortunately, Yuri only lived seven years of fame, because on March 27th, 1968, he died in a plane crash, while training and preparing for his next trip to space.

Although Yuri is not with us today, I am sure that everybody, including N.A.S.A., is very thankful that Yuri was brave enough to do such a very, very, very daring thing. To me, based on what I have researched about Yuri, I think he was the right type of man to do this, and I am almost positive that you would agree.

In conclusion, Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin was the first man in space, and as we know, one of the bravest men to exist.
