Shaikh Zayed was born in 1918 In Al Ain, Abu Dhabi. He was the youngest son of Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan (the traditional ruler of Abu Dhabi). He was named after his famous grandfather, Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, who ruled the emirate from 1855 to 1909.
His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Past President of the United Arab Emirates Ruler of Abu Dhabi. He ruled the UAE from 6th of August in 1966 until the 2nd of November in 2004.
Shaikh Zayed made with Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the UAE has begun Imaratehma union between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, to let the rest of the rulers of this unit, Vlbohem on 2 December 1971.
He died on the 2nd of November in 2004 (aged 86).
