Javier Adelmar Zanetti was born in 1973. He is an Argentinean football player. He has played for “Internazionale of Milan” team Series A club since 1995 and he's been the team captain since 1999. He has also played in two World Cups for Argentina. Zanetti started playing in Talleres de Remedios de Escalada, at that time a second division team.
Javier and Paula Zanetti decided to set up a foundation with the aim of involving all sectors of society and to lend their support to a very poor area in Argentina. They help the most socially disadvantaged and diversely talented children.
The idea for their foundation started with the belief that the combined strength of individuals can lead to constant and consistent efforts to solve problems. That strength can also change the indifference in modern society. The individualistic mentality is formed from the beginnings of childhood. They made a plan to act through education and sport, both of which are capable of directly affecting children and recreating those links.
I chose Javier Adelmar Zanetti as my hero because he has proved that you don’t have to be an office worker to be a hero and help people. He believes that if you learn moral values when you are a child and put them in to practice when you are an adult, you are going to help to build a better country. You are going to do that because, when you were little, you learned to think not only about yourself, but about others.
Zanetti is a hero because he educates poor children and teaches them sports to help them understand that they don’t have to have an individualistic mentality.
