Zhao Zilong was born approximately 168 AD and died 229 AD in Chengdu. He is noted as hero for his deeds in the battle of Changban. The army of Shu was ambushed by the imperial army which numbered 10,000. In the excitement of battle Liu Xaunde was separated from his family. He sent his top commander Zhao Zilong to locate and bring back to him his family, including two wives and one child.
So he leaves to take on his quest in which he finds the carriage Lady Mi, Gan, and Liu Shan were riding in. He comes to find it empty, nearby he finds Lady Gan and returns her to safety. He then set out to locate lady Mi and Liu Shan, on the other side of the field of battle. The prime minister found favor in Zhao Zilong. Zhao Zilong located Lady Mi, he rides to her aid to find that she has injured her leg. Zhao Zilong urged Lady Mi to take his horse but she denied, she then urged him to take the child and return to safety. When he heard soldiers coming after him to take him to the prime minister, he reluctantly took the child and tore through the enemy lines where he met Zhang.
After a brief clash he had to fall back for the safety of the child. He then continued to Liu Xaunde. When the prime minister heard his best had been beaten he was furious. Xaunde received his child. As the night came the prime minister sent a group of 5,000 to take them by surprise. Liu Xaunde heard the drums and war cries so Liu Xaunde told Zhao Zilong to prepare a doomed defense. The imperial army came to a halt at the thundering of hooves and the shouts of men. It was lord Guan with 10,000 men which sent the imperial army in full retreat.
Zhao Zilong is a hero because he set aside his own integrity so he could serve his lord. He was unwaveringly loyal to his master and had a huge influence on his actions. He was later given the highest and greatest title, Tiger. He was the third of five great Tiger generals who were the best warriors in China.
