Celebrating refugees hopes and dreams, students paint a mural depicting a Cross-Cultural Festival
Students from Japan and Syria have painted their vision of a cross-cultural festival. In the square, people wearing their respective traditional costumes are celebrating this unique festival by playing music together and dancing hand in hand.
What makes this mural so unique is that Japanese students painted Syria (right half) and Syrian students painted Japan (left half) to show what they learned about each other. Traditional arts, crafts and foods are shown in settings that feature both town and nature. A white pigeon flying over the two towns is a symbol of the friendship and coexistence of these different peoples.
