"Never give up on the work in your life.'

133638My dad Anthony ReyesPersonal Original PhotoTo me a hero is someone being nice, helpful and there for you when you need them. The person doesn't need any powers, they just need to be there with you. Just like my dad, Anthony Reyes.

There are a couple of people who have inspired Anthony in his life. Two of them being Anthony's parents, Ruben Reyes and Gloria Reyes. They have showed Anthony a lot of things that help my dad with life now. Another person who has inspired him in his life is his nina, Jane Singleton. Jane has done a lot for my dad and helped him see things the way they should be. Anthony grew up with two sisters, Maria, Danilla, and twin brother, Ruben. For a couple of years it was just Anthony, his brother, and the oldest sister, Maria. Then a few years later Danilla was born. Anthony and his siblings did not grow up in the best way, but his parents always provided for them and made sure there was food on the table every night. One reason he is my hero is because he worked so hard for his children to not experience what he had to.

Anthony said being called a hero to him means it is good, but he does not see it that way. Anthony just thinks that what he does in everyday life was how he was brought up, so for him being called a hero is an honor. The challenges that have been in his life were when he was growing up. There were some struggles because his dad worked at night so he and his siblings didn't get to see him a lot, but when they saw him on the weekend they tried to hang out as much as possible. There were a lot of times when it was just him, his mom, and siblings because his dad worked a lot to provide for them. The way he overcame that challenge was spending as much time as he could with his dad on the weekends. Anthony’s nina helped him and his siblings whenever she could. So when Anthony’s dad wasn't there, his nina was. Anthony felt like he had three parents growing up. Anthony and his siblings worked together to help each other and make sure their life was the best it could be.

Anthony had a couple of proud moments and one of them is graduating from high school because at the beginning there was some struggles. Sometimes the support Anthony needed was not there, so he learned how to do things on his own. Once Anthony finished high school, he continued his education in trade school where he learned to do air conditioning, heating and refrigeration. Anthony has been doing that job for twenty-five years; this year it will be twenty-six. The job that he learned helped him raise the family that he has today and provide everything that he could not have and much more. Another thing he is proud of is meeting his kids' mom, Roxanne Martinez, and without her he would not be able to have his three little ones: Brianna, Robbie, and me. The advice he would like to give to young people is to stay in school, continue their education, do the best they can, and any time there is obstacles in life, don’t give up. Just remember if there is something that you don't try to do, you will not know you can't do it until you try it. Anthony says he doesn't know of anything that he would like to change in his life, but he would have liked to have helped his dad with things when times were tough for them, but as far as changing anything he would not because that's what made him who he is today.

So now you know a little about my hero. Anthony had a hard life at the beginning, but the more he tried, the more he earned, and that is why he is my hero. My dad has inspired me to work hard to get what you want. Now Anthony is living in a nice house with three annoying children and a beautiful wife.
