The Weaver

Women spend time weaving crafts during their leisure hours. This helps to teach young girls how to weave and at the same time pass on useful information to the young ones. It is a shame in our society to find a woman without a basket, a mat or woven flower holder. Weaving also helps women to earn an income which is always given to the husband or "the master" in our culture. This is also a sign that a married woman is productive in monetary terms.
I decided to produce this artwork in an abstract style to depict the numerous papyrus lines involved in the process of weaving.
