Vitor Belfort

I did the MY HERO project on Vitor Belfort. I choose Vitor Belfort because he is an awesome MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter. Vitor studied Gracie Jiu Jitsu with the Carlson Gracie family. Belfort received a black belt under his training.

He was only 19 years old when he entered the UFC in the U.S. His debut bout was against John Hess in Hawaii in an event called Superbrawl. Belfort defeated him in 20 seconds by KO. He was then nicknamed THE PHENOM.

He then faced the rising Brazilian star Wanderlei Silva. Belfort caught him with a quick jab and chased him across the ring with punches. Vitor won by TKO in 44 seconds. Vitor was born in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. His D/O/B is April 1, 1978. He weighs 205 lb (93 kg). Belfort is 6 ft tall. His fighting style is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Vitor is important to me because I look up to him. He comes from Latin America and so do I. Vitor Belfort is a Mixed Martial Arts fighter. That is what I want to be when I grow up. He also fights in the UFC and PRIDE. The UFC and Pride are the hardest companies to fight in.
