My hero is Brian Deegan. Brian is one of the many people in the Metal Mulisha, which is a group of freestyle dirt bike riders. Brian is 29 years old and he is from Temecula, California. Brian Deegan is my hero because he was the first person to do a 360-degree spin on a full-size dirt bike during a competition.
Brian Deegan's most recent injury occurred while he was in competition. He cased the landing and flipped over the handlebars. Then the bike landed on him and cracked his chest open, giving him some internal injuries. He is trying his hardest to heal and get back to competition so he can win more medals and show everyone that you can go through almost anything and still do what you love to do.
Brian Deegan has been in many competitions, such as the Winter X-Games and the FMX Freestyle Championships. At the Winter X-Games, Brian broke his femur and both wrists doing a 100-foot, 360-degree spin on pure ice, but he came back to get fourth place in the Summer X-Games. I have never seen anyone who has more determination than Deegan to recover from those kind of injuries and still want to do the thing that almost killed you. That is why Brian Deegan is my hero.
