Kurt Browning was born on June 18, 1966 in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. We know he was born in Canada. Although he was born in Rocky Mountain House his hometown was Caroline, Alberta. His current residence is Toronto, Ontario. Although we don’t know where he went to school, he didn’t have very many friends. Browning had a small family, which consisted of his mother and father Neva and Dewey Browning. He also had a brother and a sister named Dena and Wade. Most people know him because he is an established figure skater. He is also known as Wayne Gretzky of figure skating due to his achievements and how much he is contributing to the sport.

In his career as a figure skater Browning accomplished many great things. His most notable accomplishment would be the world record he set on March 25, 1988 at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. It was there that Browning landed the first Quadruple jump in competitive skating! He is now listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records. He was a 4 time World Champion, 4 times Canadian Champion, 3 times Olympic Team Member, and a 3 time World Professional Champion! He is also known for his footwork. He has received a Lou Marsh Trophy for top Canadian athlete (in1990), Lionel Conacher Award (1990 and 1991), Order of Canada recipient (in 1990), an American Skating of the year Award (in 1998), and a Gustav Lussi Award from Professional Skaters’ Association (in 2001). The only Trophy he hasn’t won is the Olympic Medal. He was inducted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame in 1994 and Canada’s Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2000. He was honored with a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2001.

His other interests are ice hockey, golf, and choreography. He also appeared in the 2006 FOX Television program Skating With The Celebrities!

I picked Kurt Browning because he is a good Idol/ role model and because he works very hard to accomplish what he has deserved!!!
