Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee (Lee Hsiao Lung), was born in a San Fransisco in November 1940. He was the son of a famous Chinese opera singer. He moved to Hong Kong when he was a child. At a young age Bruce stared in Eastern films. Bruce wasn't to popular, he was getting into a lot of fights. So he terned to Kung Fu as away of defending himself. A famous Kung Fu master taught Bruce the basic skills, not long after that he became the master.

Bruce Lee also mastered the art of Wing Chun a branch of the Chinese Martial Arts, befor progressing to his own style of Jeet Kune Do.

At the age of 19 Bruce left Hong Kong to study a degree in Philosophy at the University of Washington in America. While he was at University he had two jobs one was a waiter and the other was a martial art teacher. A number of Seattle Japanese Martial Art schools tried to get him out of teaching, there was many argeuments and fights fought for Bruce to remain teaching Martial Arts.

He met his wife to be at the University he was studying at. After he got married this Martial Art schools became well Known. He gained some small roles in Hollywood films. Major stars were begging to be students of his classes, some of they names where James Coburn, Steve McQueen and Lee Marvin. He gave regular displays of his Martial Art talents, that is when he was spotted by a producer and signed up to do The Green Hornet series. It was successful in the United Stats but was huge in Hong Kong. Bruce visited Hong Kong in 1968 and he was really happy with all the attention he received from the public there.

When he got back to the States he finished filming the episodes of Longstreet, then he begain writing a book on Jeet Kune Do. In Hong Kong producers were desperate to sign Bruce up for a Martial Arts film, Ramond Chow the head of Golden Harvest who was the producer of The Big Boss. That is where his movie career started.
