Teamwork makes the dream work.

134659BTS gave the speech at the United Nations.https://news.sbs.co.kr/news/endPage.do?news_id=N1004947862In Korean performing arts, there are three leading management companies: SM, YG, and JYP. The most popular Korean bands come from one of them. However, BangTan Sonyeon Dan, namely, BTS, was formed by Big Hit Entertainment, a small company in Korea. Even though the band came from a small company, it has been taking the world by storm. They have 18 music videos, which racked up more than one billion views on YouTube! Furthermore, they won prizes on the Billboard ranking list several times, and received four awards from the Billboard Music Awards. On top of that, they are the first Korean group who appeared in TIME and had the honor of making a speech at the United Nations!

Rome was not built in a day. Although BTS is a world-famous boy band now, they didn’t rise to fame overnight. None of the members came from Seoul, which has much better living condition. They even made their debut when the company was in debt in June 2013. Either the resources or the funds were insufficient. Fortunately, they became pretty successful. Even though they were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth, they made their success through their own hard work.

134664TIME Magazine named BTS "Next Generation Leaders".https://www.gq.com.tw/entertainment/celebrities/content-37527.htmlDifferent from other boy bands, who usually ask famous composers to write songs for them, BTS created their own songs. They put their own stories, also the stories of many young people, into their songs. They sing out rebellions, struggles, confusion, and dreams during the adolescence, which shows they can identify with their fans. For example, one of the members revealed in his personal music works that he had been suffering from depression, which brought redemption for those who have experienced the same pain. He said, “We express our thoughts and feelings sincerely in our music. I believe that’s a great power that put us to the place we reach now.”

The company's founder, Hitman Bang, believed that the members’ own thoughts are the most important thing. Therefore, he has given BTS freedom in their music since they made their debut. He said, “I asked them to make quality music and expected that they would have a positive impact on their fans."

Additionally, what also leads BTS to success is that they make good use of social media to break regional restrictions. It’s a vital key that makes them world famous. Besides, they care a lot about their fans and always put them in the first place. Every time they won awards, they yelled “A.R.M.Y.” (their fans’ name) first and thanked them for their support. Even when they haven’t released their new songs or albums, they still maintain the interactions between them and their fans, like sharing their daily moments even though it is just a trivial, which makes their fans feel that they are valued. That’s why BTS has a large group of diehard fans who always stand up for them.

134665BTS attended to the Grammy.https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/grammys/8497542/bts-2019-grammy-awards-red-carpet-photosThe meaning of “BTS” is to resist the prejudice and criticism which are like bullets from the public, guarding the values in their music and bringing out positive impact to society by creating their songs from the bottom of their hearts. Certainly, as they become more and more popular, the meanings the band carries multiply too. For instance, one of the world-known extra meanings is “Beyond The Scene,” which means they keep making breakthroughs. No matter what values or meanings are added to the group, we can obviously see that all of them are positive, and that BTS impacts the world in good ways.

Teamwork makes dream work. It took BTS years to become who they are today. All their mistakes, bad days, and tears led up to this success. I believe that they won’t be big-headed, and they will cherish what they own now. They will keep moving forward with the same spirit which has driven them so far. The legend they have created will be eternally etched in K-POP history.
