119536BTShttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTS_(band)Have you ever heard of BTS? Maybe you have heard of their music and success from it, but don't really know what they've done for others. Let me help you learn more about how they are able to help others through their music, charity, and other causes they care about. Starting off with their music, to many, they may not care to listen to it as it is sung in a different language, Korean. But besides the language barriers, BTS makes music about self-love and the struggles of being able to accept yourself for who you are. Listeners are able to connect with their music even with language barriers. With their music being about self-love, it only makes sense for them to help many causes for those in need. In 2017, BTS and their company donated $85,000 to the Sewol Ferry Disaster. The Sewol Ferry Disaster was a tragedy in Jeju, South Korea. One of the ferries began to sink. Again in 2017, BTS joined the United Nations Children's Funds (UNICEF) With their "LOVE MYSELF" Campaign. With this campaign BTS uses it in hope to stop all kinds of violence around the world. With their partnership with UNICEF, BTS was able to go to the United Nations, and leader RM (Kim Namjoon) was able to give a speech, telling people to speak themselves no matter who they are. In this current year, 2020, things have changed a lot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. BTS and their company still shows their positivity by donating $1 million to the Black Lives Matter Movement. Also during this year, they have had online concerts, and performed for the graduating class of 2020 in hopes to keep everyone positive through these hard times. Overall, BTS are my heroes for the message they send through their music and donations. This message is about how to love yourself, and that you really can't help others if you don't even love yourself first. I believe they are a great example for people all around the world.
