Cornelia Funke is the best author ever. Her books are amazing and, in my opinion, greater than anyone else's. They are so great because they create vibrant pictures in my head, her characters are very realistic, and her fantasy is beyond imagining, except for her, of course.
Cornelia Funke was born in 1958. She grew up in Germany. Funke loved English and writing essays. When she grew up, she wanted to be an astronaut, a pilot, or to live with the Red Indians. None of these became her occupation, sadly, but she had three different jobs.
One of those jobs was a social worker. She found that she had different talents, so she quit, and then became an illustrator. Her company rarely gave her the stories she wanted, so she became an author. She got her inspiration from working with children who had deprived backgrounds.
The children she worked with also inspired her to write the book The Thief Lord. She has also written Inkheart, Inkspell, and Dragon Rider. Funke's favorite book she's written is Inkheart. All of her books except Inkspell will be made into movies.
Cornelia Funke is a great author. She lives in Los Angeles, California, with her husband, her daughter, her son, a dog named Luna, two Icelandic horses named Jaspur and Snegla, and a very shy guinea pig named Midget.
