But if I have to choose one of them, I will speak about Charles Chaplin. Charles Chaplin was born on 16 April 1889 in London. His family was very poor, his father was alcoholic and he worked in a children's dance troupe. When he was 15 years old, he started a career with some representations in theater. He went to the USA and played in his first movie and many other films after that. He was a dancer, an actor, a producer, a director and he created and co-founded his own movie company: United Artist. He played in many films (more than one hundred) and he was famous for the character of "The Tramp". That is a recurrent character of his movie like in the "Modern Times"(1936) "The Kid"(1921) or "The Gold Rush"(1925). He is one of the most important person of the cinema history and, for me, he is my favorite actor and director. But, Chaplin became my hero when he created the character of Adenoid Hynkel in the film: The Great Dictator (1940). This film is a political satire, he parodied Nazi Germany and Adolf Hitler, his leader. The movie was censored in many countries. It's my favorite film, and it finishes with one of the most emotional and powerful speeches about the madness of humanity, war, slavery, equality, freedom and hope.
