Lilith "Millie" Williams
This is a colored pencil drawing of Lilith "Millie" Williams, a woman close to me that, although we are not blood related, I consider family. The portrait took around a total of sixty hours over three months.
I consider her my hero because of everything she's persevered through. When Mimi (I call her Mimi) gave birth to her daughter, she was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and given the life expectancy of twelve years. It's been really difficult for Mimi and her daughter, but she's actually alive as of 2025, over forty years old! She was able to go to college, become a teacher, and even give birth- a feat thought impossible for MD patients. Mimi, throughout all of this, has stayed strong and positive, showing tremendous courage and love for her daughter and granddaughter (who is currently at college herself as of 2025). Unfortunately, Mimi's daughter seems to be getting worse, and it's a really rough time- however, Mimi's stayed strong, wise, courageous, and hopeful.
