He played for the soccer teams, Manchester United FC, Real Madrid FC, and now for Juventus FC. A hero must put others before themselves and have a huge passion for what they do. Cristiano Ronaldo fits the criteria of a hero as he has a great passion of what he does as well as having the generosity to give to others.

Cristiano Ronaldo contains the criteria of a hero because of his passion for soccer. In 2003, Ronaldo was offered a deal with Manchester United F.C, one of the best soccer teams. “Ronaldo signed with English powerhouse Manchester United in 2003. He was an instant sensation and soon came to be regarded as one of the best forwards in the game” (Rollin).  Ronaldo signing to Manchester United F.C was biggest event of his life and a huge achievement because it was one of the best teams out there. This was also the start of his professional career. Throughout Cristiano Ronaldo's career, he's earned many awards and achievements: “Ronaldo continued his record-setting run with Real Madrid for five more seasons, winning three more Ballon d'Or trophies in 2014, 2016, and 2017, which tied him with Messi for the most ever with a total of five. He led Real Madrid to four European Cup championships while scoring the most goals in European Cup history with 105, and another La Liga championship in 2017. He finished his time in La Liga with 312 goals, most in Real Madrid history and trailing only Messi for most in league history’’ (“Cristiano Ronaldo’’). Ronaldo has earned many awards throughout his career. He wins the Ballon d’Or almost every year, wins many cup championships, and scores hundreds of goals. Cristiano Ronaldo signed to Manchester United FC and Real Madrid FC and earns many awards through his passion for soccer through his passion and determination for soccer.

Cristiano Ronaldo has the criteria for a hero because of generosity to give to others. When there was a massive earthquake in Nepal, Ronaldo quickly came to help: “Shortly after a massive earthquake hit Nepal, killing an estimated 8,000 people, Ronaldo took to social media to ask fans to donate to the Save the Children charity. However, he also put quite a bit of money where his mouth was -- according to French soccer magazine So Foot, Ronaldo made a personal donation of 7 million euros, which works out to about $7.8 million’’ (Bieler). Ronaldo asked fans to donate money to the cause. Ronaldo himself donated 7.8 million dollars to help the kids affected by the earthquake. This shows he gives his own money to help ithers in need. One of Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans had brain disorder, and needed money for the surgery. Ronaldo of course came to help: “10-month-old child suffering from a brain disorder. The world’s top soccer player went a little further than that. Ronaldo, the Real Madrid star who was Fifa’s Ballon d’Or winner as the world’s top player, will pay the full $83,000 cost of the surgery for young Erik Ortiz Cruz” (Chase).

This is another example on how he will give his own money to help a stranger who needs it.  Cristiano Ronaldo fits the criteria of a hero because of his generosity to donate to natural disaster victims and a child who has a brain disease.

Cristiano Ronaldo is considered a hero as he has a great passion of what he does and has the generosity to give to others. He is a hero because of his passion and determination to become the best at what he does. He is signs to the biggest teams in the world and still plays in his thirties. He is a hero because of his generosity and selflessness. Cristiano Ronaldo inspires me because he shows how far you can get in life through determination. He inspires me because of his generosity to give to others less fortunate than him. Ronaldo fits the criteria of a hero because he has a strong passion for what he does to become the best. A hero is someone who has the passion and determination to become the best and puts others before himself, and that's what Cristiano Ronaldo does.
