Imagine no color, no enjoyment, no Walt Disney. I think our world needs an artistic man like him. He had a dream, and his wild imagination led him to be the best cartoonist ever. Thanks to Walt Disney, everyone can enjoy a fun, happy movie.

Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 5, 1901. After his birth, his mother, father, three brothers and one sister, moved to Missouri to live on a farm. He lived most of his childhood there. Walt Disney loved trains; he would often put his ears against the tracks and listen to see if trains were coming. Later on, Walt’s family moved to Kansas City. He continued to increase his love of drawing.

In 1918, he tried to join the military, but he was rejected because he was underage. Walt decided to join Red Cross and got sent to France. He was an ambulance driver. When he returned, he began to create short animated films for a local business.

At 16, Walt Disney moved back to Chicago to study art. He started out by making advertisements that showed in film theatres. Then he moved to Los Angeles to open a movie studio. He made black and white films, but none were as successful as "Steamboat Willie." This film introduced Mickey Mouse for the first time. In 1929, Walt started to make colored films. In "Silly Symphonies," Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto were Walt’s new characters. In 1937, Walt Disney released his first full-length, color film: "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," a major hit all across North America.

In 1955, Walt Disney wanted to open something fun for his fans to enjoy, so he opened Disneyland. He bought 43 square miles of land to start this amazing theme park. Walt Disney won 26 Academy Awards, the most anyone has ever won. Walt Disney died on December 15th 1966. He was 65 years of age.

Walt Disney was a great man. He had great thoughts and was passionate about his work. His company has let millions of people enjoy his hard work and everyone loves it. He was just a great man. Walt Disney is a man that no one could hate. He was loved by all.
