He made a decision that would get thousands killed, but would save millions. Dwight D. Eisenhower was a general during D-day in 1945. He gave the order to attack the Normandy invasion of France that got a lot of American soldiers killed but saved millions of American citizens. He was born on October 14, 1890 in Denison, Texas. In 1945 he was appointed U.S. Army Chief of Staff. He had seven brothers, and Mamie Geneva Doud was his wife. He became was the 34th President of the United States of America on January 20, 1963. He served two terms before retiring to Gettysburg in 1961. Eisenhower died on March 28, 1969. A hero must possess bravery and fearlessness. Dwight D. Eisenhower displayed these traits in many battles in World War ll. There are many more reasons why Dwight D. Eisenhower was a great war hero and possibly the best president. Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States of America and an outstanding general, was brave and fearless, therefore he is a hero.

134276Dwight D. Eisenhowerhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dwight_D._Eisenhower,_official_photo_portrait,_May_29,_1959.jpgDwight D. Eisenhower exemplified bravery when he gave the order to send US soldiers in to the Normandy Invasion of D-Day. General Eisenhower was in Normandy, France in 1945. “On June 5, General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force, drafted a message to be issued in case the mission failed: ‘The troops, the air and the Navy did all that Bravery and devotion to duty could do. If any blame or fault attaches to the attempt it is mine alone.’ Ike never had to make that statement, but victory was hard won” (D-Day).

On January 20, 1953, Dwight D Eisenhower became president. He was the perfect person to be president because he was a war hero in D-Day. This was a perfect example of fearless because he probably did not want this title, but he took it anyway, not for himself but for America. When he became president he knew he couldn't make everyone happy, so he did the best he could to make America an even better place. Eisenhower did a lot the awesome things, but they were all for his family and America.

Dwight D. Eisenhower is my hero because he is not afraid to stand up for people, even if he can get killed. He won D-Day with the help of the USA and saved millions of Americans. He was the 34th president of the USA. He died in March 28, 1969. He is my because he saved millions. He was one of the best presidents of all time.
