Albert Einstein

by Carlos from Dalton

Albert Einstein is my hero because I want to be a scientist when I grow up. He inspires me to do my best to try to become a scientist. He was born on March 14, 1879. He thought of school as barracks and teachers as military commanders. At the age of 11 he studied Physics at university level. He created the famous equation E=mc2.

In 1921 he was awarded with the Noble Prize for Physics. In 1933 he accepted a permanet appointment at the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton. In 1941 he became a United States citizen. He also sent a letter to to President Roosevelt about making an atomic bomb. He created the Atomic bomb.

On August 6th an atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima killing 140,000 people. On August 9th another one was dropped on Nagasaki killing 60,000 men, women and children. When Albert heard of this massive death and destruction he said to himself ``I could burn the fingers I used to write the first letter to Roosevelt.`` Albert died on April 18, 1955. That's my hero.
