Elizabeth Warren is a fierce senator who undertook a rough journey to get into the Senate. She ran into setbacks like being a woman and coming from a low-income family, but that didn’t stop her. From there she went on to get an education and eventually be in the Senate. People look down on her because of her aggressive ways, but her aggression allowed her ideas to get out into the world and help the country. Elizabeth Warren was born in Oklahoma City in a farm, as the fourth child of a lower income working family. From there she left to go to Rutgers Law School, earning her J.D in 1976 and then became a law professor at Harvard. Afterwards she was appointed to the head of TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) and helped to protect the tax investments. In November of 2014, Senate Democrats chose their leaders. Warren was chosen as the strategic policy adviser to the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, which was a new position created for Warren. She is determined because she came up from nothing and went to long lengths to get herself an education and eventually moved on to be great. She is compassionate because she is tackling problems of the typical American, like student debt. Elizabeth Warren possesses the traits of determination and compassion, making her a hero for our government and the world.

Her determination allowed her to do so much for our country and she is continuing to help get our financial market right. “The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau – that she not only conceived but, against all odds, got enacted in the Obama financial reforms – has already returned over $10 billion to 17 million Americans tricked by deceptive credit card and other financial ripoffs” (Borosage 14). Her determination of helping and doing her job has returned a lot of money back to Americans. This act has helped millions of people who got tricked by deceptive credit card and other financial ripoffs. Also, against all odds, her program got enacted by the Obama financial reforms. This program saved the economy and helped everyone in the country.

As a senator, she does not just help our economy, but she also goes out of her way to help the average person. “No. This is about - what we're working on right now are the 40 million people who did exactly what we asked them to do. They went out, they got an education, but they weren't born into families where mom and dad could just write a check and pay the whole ticket up front. They had to finance their education” (“Senator Warren Introduces Bill On Student Debt”). She is talking about our current state of student debt and how it is affecting people today. She wants to let people know that they are working on a way to help the young people of our country. When she states, “They went out, they got an education, but they weren't born into families where mom and dad could just write a check and pay the whole ticket up front,” she is saying young people are doing everything that their parents told them to do but because of that they are being put in debt. Elizabeth Warren is using her trait of determination to be a hero for our economy and for the average American.

Warren is a champion for the common person and not afraid to speak up to address problems in our society. “People think that the system is rigged against them. And here’s the painful part: they’re right” – established her national voice. Her recent remarks on Black Lives Matter and our unfinished racial justice agenda provided a clarity and solidarity vital to that movement” (Borosage 13). During a convention she spoke out against the ongoing problem of racism in our country and told everyone about how the system is rigged against them. Her compassion for all people helped her come out with this statement to help with the problem. When it says, “Her recent remarks on Black Lives Matter and our unfinished racial justice agenda provided a clarity and solidarity vital to that movement," it is saying that her words on the subject will help push the movement farther and she wants to help make racism extinct in our country. She also is tackling the nation’s problem of student debt. “Yeah, the answer is, a lot. And of course it depends on exactly how much debt the students got and how old the loan is because the older they are, for a lot of them, the interest rate’s higher. But what this will mean, is for many, many students it will be hundreds of dollars a year, and for many, many more it will be thousands of dollars a year that they will save if the interest rates are refinanced....You bet. In fact I'm not just making that case, that's the case the Fed is making, the Treasury is making, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau because they're all worried that right now what's happening is that student loan debt is crushing young people. And so they're not doing the things we would expect them to do” (“Senator Warren Introduces Bill On Student Debt”). When she says, “student loan debt is crushing young people” she is correct and is using her power in the Senate to bring up the problems that are affecting our youth today. These statements from Elizabeth Warren show her real intention of trying to help our younger generation. By using her compassion for others, she has brought a real world problem up to the table and she is willing to do anything to try and help. Warren's compassion has helped bring up many problems in our society like racism and student debt.

Elizabeth Warren possesses the traits of determination and compassion, making her a hero for our government and the world. She uses her power in the Senate to show her care to the young people in debt, and she is determined to eliminate racism from our country. Elizabeth Warren inspires me with her actions for the common person and her constant work to get to the top. Elizabeth Warren is a hero to all, especially to ambitious people with dreams. These people look up to her because of her determination and compassion towards others.
