Luis Filipe Madeira Caeiro Figo was born on November 4th,1972 in Lisbon, Portugal. He grew up in a very poor family. When he was 10 he started showing very good skills of the game. Then he played for "Sporting Lisbon."(1 of Portugal's 3 good teams.) Under his belt he had a Portuguese Cup. He played with "Sporting Lisbon" from 1995-1996.

Then he signed with the 'Barcelona Football Club." In the year of 2000 he decided would be his last year with Barcelona. By the time he had finished playing with the team in Barcelona, he had gotten 30 goals in 172 games. With no doubts he was one of Europe's best Football Players.

Though you would probably figure he was also not cheap. He was the most expensive player in the world. For $56 million he was transfered from Barcelona to "Real Madrid." Their midfielder since Juy 24th, 2000 had a very memorable year.

Besides breaking the worlds highest salary record!! It actully was by scoring a goal against England in the Euro 2000 Finals.Which was a very very big thing back then and still is. If you haven't noticed England is an excellent team.

He started the decade off great recieving the 'Golden Ball of France." He also earned the spot of runner-up for the best player of the year 2000 in Football. Voted by FIFA. Figo likes enjoying time on the beach with his friends and family. He is married and has one son.
