This acrylic painting is a portrait of Frida Kahlo, one of Mexico's greatest artists. Kahlo is my hero because she represents the type of person I'd like to be: a resilient, strong, and creative woman. In 1922, Kahlo was in a bus crash that left her seriously injured and bedridden for several weeks. Frida spent her time painting and her emotions/chronic pain inspired a lot of her artwork. As a Mexican girl with health struggles that have led to hospitalization, Frida Kahlo is a big inspiration of mine.
