Greta Thunberg: How a teen was able to change the world

When the world was blind,

There was a girl.

Only sixteen,

Who saw the world in a different way.

It was not only the natural disasters,

The melting ice,

The pollution.

But Her determination,

Her demands to make it right.

Her small but huge act,

Which created a ripple effect that will soon change the world.

She skipped school To fight for the environment,

She gave speeches from all around the world,

She inspired not one,

Not ten,

But millions of people to take action.

Her quote, “You are never too small to make a difference,”

Helped the world realize that even one young person could do something about it.

Instead of flying to cut down on her Carbon footprint,

She sailed all the way across the Pacific Ocean from Sweden to New York,

Joining millions of young protesters around the world. 

Now we must show our support, 

Show our gratitude,

For the courage,

The act of taking action,

And the wise words,
