Helen Keller inspired people like her to not give up and be the best they can be. She got a disease called “Brain Fever”. She got this at nineteen months old. Shortly after, her parents realized she was blind and deaf. Then, they contacted Perkins institute for the blind. After that, they got Anna Sullivan to help her.

Helen Keller was born on June 27,1880. Helen lived her life being a hero to many people in the world and one day she might be a hero to you too. Helen tried to tell what she wanted to her parents, but they never understood her, so she would throw a fit. Anna tired to help Helen but at first Helen didn't understand. Later she got the hang of it and learned new words the day she started. Anna would help her for 50 years.

Helen was able to gain to the attention of many people. After many years she wrote two books. The first one she wrote was called ‘The Story Of My Life’ and more. Her books made her famous even though they weren’t spread with any phones or electronics. She even became famous enough and was able to meet many presidents from Grover Cleveland to Lyndon Johnson. Another fact, is she also met Alexander Graham Bell and Mark Twain. After that, during World War II she met up with army men and told them not to give up. Her books made her famous.

Helen spent her life raising money for people that have disabilities. Helen Keller was very kind, caring and smart. She was also very loving. She had 4 siblings and grew up with with dogs, horses and chickens. Helen is a dog lover. They gave her joy inside. She loved all animals but she loved dogs a lot more than other animals.

Helen was a strong woman and lived her life more than you would think for a blind and deaf person. She is a hero because she did so much being blind and deaf. She helped people all around the world. Her memory still lives on.
