The La Source trailer has been nominated for MY HERO International Film Festival’s Daniel Eldon Activist Award. The award is in honor of humanitarian and journalist Daniel Eldon. Eldon was one of the few westerners reporting on the crisis in Somolia in 1993. He was killed in 1993 by an angry mob in the nation’s capital, Mogadishu, while taking photos. MY HERO’s screening and awards ceremony will take place on Sat., Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. at the University of Southern California. Information on attending the film festival can be found at The MY HERO Project Web site. In its 15th year, MY HERO’s mission is to use media and technology to celebrate the best of humanity and to empower young people to realize their potential to effect positive change in the world.
Josue Lajeunesse, cast member of La Source, has been nominated for a Hero Award. Each year the film festival gives out a few awards to honor the real life heroes chronicled in finalist films.
We are honored to have our trailer selected as a finalist and also happy that Josue is being considered for a Hero Award. We’ll update you on awards once the ceremony has taken place. Please keep your fingers crossed for La Source and Josue!
