Paloma Herrera is my hero because she is not an average ballet dancer that is skinny or small. She has broken cultural boundaries and has danced all around the world. I am also a ballet dancer who is not skinny, short, or small. I guess you could say I look up to her because I can relate to her. Paloma inspires me to keep going on and I think she is a great dancer.
My hero, as you can see is, Paloma Herrera. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She started dancing at the age of 7 and trained at the Institute of Arts. At the age of 14, Paloma was awarded Finalist Diplomat at the XIV Varna International Ballet Competition. After 6 months of hard work and studying, she joined the American Ballet Theatre. Two years later she was promoted to a soloist. She became a principle dancer at the age of 19.
She has danced in Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, La Bayadere, Swan Lake, Le Corsaire, Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, The Snow Maiden, and many more contemporary pieces.

Now, she is a star member of the American Ballet Theatre. I hope to be just like her one day! That is why Paloma Herrera is my hero.
