The Insane Clown Posse (http://www.angelfire.com/retro2/illuzionkilla/images/wraith.jpg) |
When you think of the insane clown posse you see weirdo’s that paint there face and rap about stuff you didn’t think people would rap about. They might use explicit lyrics and they might offend people but have you ever listened to their music and looked beneath the lyrics and the people who sing it. Starting out poor in Detroit Icp didn’t have what you would call good family lives. Joe Bruce (Violent J), And Joey Sutsler (Shaggy 2 Dope) came out with their first studio recorded album after making basement tapes called The Carnival Of Carnage, Which only sold 17 copies on its release date, but later went on to sell over 500,000 copies. After making some noise with their first album, they soon hit the studio to record their next album titled The Ring Master which went gold. Then successfully started their own record label called Psychopathic Records which lead to the release of information to their fans (juggalos) about the up in coming 6 jokers’ cards to be released. Around 1995 for their 3rd jokers card Icp got signed to jive records which was their first release on a major record label.

The 6 Jokers Cards |
After being cheated and lied to by jive records Icp was signed to Hollywood records also owned by Disney. After recording the 4th jokers card titled The Great Melinko which featured Slash from Guns n' Roses and Steve Jones. When Icp Handed over the material to Hollywood records they told Icp that the album could not be published due to all the explicit lyrics. Icp wanting their first national release made the changes. 6 hours after the cd's release it was pulled from shelves by Hollywood records because of the still explicit lyrics. Hollywood records wanted over 1 million dollars to release Icp from the label, this stirred much attention in the media and Icp was soon signed to islands records who released The Great Melinko which then went platinum. Icp began working on their 5th joker’s card titled The Amazing Jekel Brothers, wrestling career, and signing fresh new artists to Psychopathic Records.

Psychopathic Records Super Group |
In 1999 Icp released their 5th joker’s card which went platinum immediately. Before going into "hiding" to plan their long awaited (10 years) 6th jokers card Icp released the albums titled Bizaar/Bizzar which went gold. Icp then started super group DARK LOTUS with fellow label mates which introduced the term juggalo family to the underground music scene. Icp's fan base all started using the term juggalo family which sparked an underground sensation throughout other musicians and fans. During all this attention Icp released their first movie Titled Big Money Hustlas, they also came out with a clothing line, and the gathering, plus dozens of music videos.

Icp's Independent record label |
In the mist all this in November 2002 Icp dropped their 6th joker’s card titled The Wraith Shangri-La, their most devastating album yet which is now up for gold certification. Icp had left islands records and went completely independent. Throughout making all their cd’s , writing comic books, starting a wrestling leauge and an independent record label, doing commercials, and working with tons of other famous artists Icp did do their fair share of cherity work. They gave away free turkeys to the less fortunate on thanksgiving, they also did a cherity wrestling event for a single mother with 2 children and cancer (which was on fox news), they won a bet with sharon osbourne worth 50,000 dollars but told her to donate it to cherity.
After releasing 7 gold and 2 platinum albums plus solo albums and doing every career a human could dream of (even writing a book) they have settled down for a little while but are not retired. They both have children and are happily settled down.
