My grandfather, Birbal Gandhi, was the kind of person whose presence felt like a warm blanket on a cold day. He didn’t have to say much—his strength and kindness did all the talking. Even now, I find myself leaning on the lessons he taught me, whether it was about facing challenges with grace or finding joy in the little things. After he passed, I wanted to hold onto those moments with him, so I drew a charcoal portrait to capture the man who meant so much to me. It’s not just a picture—it’s a reminder of the love and wisdom he shared with all of us. My grandfather showed me that being a hero doesn’t mean doing big, flashy things; it’s about being there for the people you love, every single day.
