Julijana Jamsek

My hero is my grand grandmother Julijana Jamsek. She was born on the 30th December 1906. Her mother died when she was three days old, so her father found another wife who was very strict. She had five sisters and one brother.

In the year 1929 she married with Martin Jamsek and moved to a farm in Krvica. They have nine daughters and because of them they built the house on Selise. In 1959 her husband died. She stayed alone with nine daughters. The farm was very big so she had to work hard that she can feed her family. Her daughters were also working very hard. Because she had a lot of work she didn't have any hobbies. She's friendly and when she was 90 years old she cooked alone.

She loves to sing and talk about her history. When we come to visit her and talk with her she is really happy. Today she is already 105 years old and she is the second oldest woman in Zasavje.

She's my hero because she worked hard all her life and because of her age.
