Joan of Arc; a 15th-century French military leader, national heroine, and saint. You may remember her from a book about France’s history during history class and never paid attention. Yet what did she do to achieve all these titles and recognition and achievements? And to be well known and heroic as a national symbol of France? Well I will be telling you how she was heroic and answering your questions along the way!
Before everything and all of her titles Joan of Arc was once a shepherdess born into a peasant-farming family enjoying the beautiful landscape of nature, until a voice in her head appeared saying that the day of victory had come. And it was said that God had chosen her, as a simple shepherdess to save the kingdom of France. When she asked who he was, he said that; “I am Michael, the guardian of France, great general of the kingdom of heaven. God desires to save France, but not with a great commander leading the way.” Also telling her to leave this place and find the sword that God has prepared for her, but she refuses to think that she would lead an army to battle. The thing is the figure has now persuaded her to go there, so several days later she arrived at Vaucouleurs, France. The voice then tells her to call out to Robert De Buadricourt, when she then calls him saying that she has an urgent message that God has sent her here to save France. And thus started her journey and death of how she became remembered as a national heroine of France after her death.
Joan of Arc has improved the world and created a positive impact of inspiring the French people and helping unite a broken France. Also lifting the Siege of Orléans, if France never won the Siege of Orléans, France would mostly never exist and the British would conquer France. And there would be a large butterfly effect for the Great War and World War 2 and to this day if France never lifted the Siege of Orléans.
Thus in conclusion there are many character traits that this person has that makes them great or to describe them. Some are: chivalrous, fiercely courageous to France’s people, and ect. I look up to this person due to how fiercely courageous they are to unite a broken France and their people. From this person we learn to defy expectations from being different in a way like how she is a female military commander.
