Michael Jordan

Michael JordanA hero is someone that you look up to and want to be just like. A hero is also someone that sets an example that you follow and they help you be successful later on in life. One of my heroes is Michael Jordan.

Michael Jordan was one of five children in his family. He had two older brothers and an older and younger sister. His mom worked for a bank and his dad worked at an electrical plant. He played ball in high school and got cut from the varsity team when he was a sophomore. Michael Jordan was born on February 17th 1963 in Brooklyn New York.

Michael JordanMichael Jordan was a basketball player for the Chicago Bulls from the mid 1980s to the early 1990s, when he retired from basketball to try out for major league baseball. After more than a year he returned to the Bulls in 1996. His nickname was "Air Jordan" because he was always in the air dunking the ball. He went to North Carolina for college and graduated in 1984. He was an NBA MVP in 1988, 91, 92, 96 and 98. He was also rookie of the year in 1985. He also won an Olympic gold medal in 1984, 1992.

Michael Jordan was the type of person who would not quit even if he was faced with a bad leg or something. He won seven straight scoring titles with a combination of breath-taking dunks and accurate jump-shooting. He put up some of the biggest numbers in NBA history. After returning to the league, he lead the bulls to three more titles in a row in 1996,1997,1998. Overall, Michael was a great basketball player.
