Frida Kahlo was a famous Mexican artist. She was born in 1907 in Coyoacan, Mexico. She was married to muralist Diego Rivera for several years. Frida was also a member of the Mexican Communist Party. She was in a bus accident when she was 18 and during this time she found her passion: painting.
My personal definition of a hero is someone who has made a difference in or an impact on another person's life. A hero is someone who has influenced others by what they've done and also influenced others to keep doing what they believe in. A hero is a person who shows courage, integrity, and stands up for what they believe in.
Frida Kahlo fits my definition of a hero because she has made an impact on Mexican art. She has influenced others to follow their love of art. Through her art you can see she was a strong person. Frida expressed herself freely. She didn't really care much for what others thought of her, except Diego Rivera. She did whatever she wanted. She sometimes acted like a man but she was also very feminine at the same time. She was very open minded.
There are many controversial things about Frida Kahlo. Some people say she was an alcoholic at the time of her death. She drank, smoked and did drugs to ease her emotional and physical pain. She was part of the Mexican Communist Party. Frida had an open heart for everyone.
This person is important to me because she went through a lot of hard situations. She still kept going on with her life after her accident which made life very difficult for her. She is important to me because I am also from Mexican descent. Nothing stopped her from doing what she wanted and she had a free heart. She is someone I can look up to.
