My hero is my husband, Lance Glasscock.
What started as strep throat became something terrifying when it traveled to my already vulnerable heart. When the doctors explained how serious this was, ( I would go through open heart surgery and be in the hospital 3 months) he held my hand tighter and promised we'd face whatever came next together. His unwavering presence gave me courage when fear threatened to overwhelm.
Two valve replacements. Open heart surgery. The words felt impossible, but his steady voice saying "We've got this" made them feel conquerable. Through every pre-op appointment, every sleepless night of worry, every long hour of surgery, he was my rock. His love was my lifeline, his faith in my recovery became my own.
When the unthinkable happened and I had a stroke, he didn't hesitate. His hands performed chest compressions until the ambulance arrived, his voice stayed calm while your heart was breaking. As they flew me to the hospital, he was my guardian angel. In that moment of crisis, he became more than my husband—he became my hero in the truest sense.
