Lara McDonald

I am a 14 year old boy from the boring town of Topeka, Kansas. I had an okay life until I was about 10. Before then my only issue was being relentlessly bullied. When I turned ten I started having home issues. These led into a steep and fast decline into depression, anxiety, and suicide. I was close to the bottom when I met my hero at age 12. She built the stairs that brought me out of that deep hole that I had been stuck in. She also led me to the club that my best friends and I now lead. She had sponsored the club before I got to that school. We work in suicide and bullying prevention tactics and how to help people in general. Mrs. McDonald is my hero because she is funny, caring, kind, and very intelligent. She would never see someone down in the dumps and not help them. She would put herself in the face of danger for anyone or anything that needed her help and that is why I love her.
