Lebron James is a hero not because he is a basketball star but because he is a role model for the younger generation he donates money to charity and promotes equality. Imagine going from almost homeless to one of the best basketball players of all time.
During the Week of The NBA Finals James said “ Im Lebron James. From Akron, Ohio. From the Inner City. I'm not even supposed to be here. This shows that Lebron did not grow up privileged and had to work for what he has.Lebron has donated about millions of dollars to different charities around the world. On February 15, 2009 Lebron along with rapper Jay-Z and singer Beyonce Knowles, donated $50,000 to the Mesa Art Academy
Middletown Press In June 2006 Lebron and several other NBA players did a bike-a-thon to raise money for different charities in Ohio. This year's NBA All-Star Week,was a special one for underprivileged kids in Phoenix, Arizona. Lebron donated a playground to the Boys & Girls Club.” Lebron is grateful for what he has and he tries to spread peace and tries to get others to do more great deeds like him. Lebron uses some of his wealth from the league to give the youth equipment that they cant afford. Lebron is one of the biggest names in NBA History.
USA Today In a game the Wizards V.S the Cavaliers “James wore one black sneaker and one white sneaker, with both featuring the word "EQUALITY" stitched in gold across the back of the shoe, in an apparent ode to racial harmony.” Lebron Promotes equality and ultimately wants to end racism. James never forgot his roots. Along with his mother, he started a nonprofit organization to help needy children in his hometown area. In August of 2005, James donated 1,000 backpacks full of school supplies to needy kids in the Akron and Cleveland areas. He did this personally through his nonprofit organization Family Foundation, with help from Target. PR Newswire quoted him as having said, "We have been doing events like this since I was in high school and I will always be here to support the kids." Lebron was grateful for where he came and what it has made him. Lebron donated back to the community that made him who he is today
On February 8, 2005, James was named as a starter on the NBA's Eastern Conference All-Star team. Then, in April of 2005, James made NBA history where he became the youngest player ever to score more than fifty points in one game, scoring fifty-six points in a game against the Toronto Raptors. Lebron is not only a role model off the court but on the court he has broken many records and may be the best the basketball “world” has ever seen. Lebron is not a hero because of what he does on the court but what he does off the court, Lebron has had a positive influence on the younger generation and has made a great impact, he has made others better people.
