Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States. He led the nations through the bloody civil war and to reunification. Lincoln opposed slavery despite fierce backlash and eventually saw the 13th Amendment passed, which ended the practice for good. Throughout his term, he faced challenges unlike any seen before, yet he managed to not only overcome them, but emerge as a hero who united America and made it a better place.
